This three-day intensive course is designed for makeup artists and hairstylists who want to enhance their session styling techniques, whether for shoots, shows, or on-set work. Led by industry experts, this academy provides a unique opportunity to learn essential hairstyling skills and elevate your creative approach.
Course Overview
Day 1:
Jannes will teach the foundational techniques for working with Type 4 (Afro) hair—an essential skill for professional hairstylists and makeup artists working on shows and sets.
Days 2 & 3:
Mai, a core team member of the iconic Guido Paulo, and part of the Senzi Education team (London) will guide you through essential and advanced styling techniques. These sessions will focus on the skills you need for high-pressure environments like sets and shows, ensuring you leave confident in your abilities.
What You’ll Learn
• “session kit bag” and important tools
• A kick start of techniques every session stylist should be confident with
• Use of various tools and techniques that are a must
• Research material and essential resources that will be helpful to create a
moodboard
• Improve technical and creative skills like making faux fringe, extensions
application, structural hair work, wig wrap, scalp braids and many more.
• Live demonstrations of recreating runway looks
• Explore non traditional methods of styling and thinking
• Learn how to perform and achieve results quickly
• Understand the creative process of doing a photoshoot
• Understanding the importance of product and its placement
• Intense workshops will assist to build confidence and broaden the
creative mindset
• Feedback from mentor

All products will be provided, including Sisley, L’Oréal, and Bumble & Bumble. We’ll work on professional styling heads, so there’s no need to bring models.

1390 euros (excluding 21 % VAT) including refreshing drinks, healhty lunch and snacks and a product goodiebag. We provide a range of brands and products.

When you receive your invoice, 50 % prepayment is required to secure your booking.

The studio is located close to the central stain station (10 min walk) and you can also park your car in the surrounding streets.

Vera Mai Ha is a renowned English hairstylist celebrated for her innovative approach to hair artistry. As a core team member of the legendary Guido Palau, Vera Mai has honed her craft on some of the most prestigious international fashion runways and editorial shoots. Known for her mastery of both foundational and avant-garde techniques, she seamlessly blends technical precision with creative flair. With years of experience in high-pressure backstage environments, Vera Mai is passionate about sharing her expertise and inspiring the next generation of stylists to excel in the fast-paced world of fashion.
Jannes Vandevelde is a Belgian hairstylist with a background in both salon work and high-pressure fashion environments. Starting his career in local salons, he quickly developed a passion for Afro and textured hair, which led him to train extensively in Type 4 hair techniques. Over the years, Jannes has worked on international fashion shows, editorial shoots, and campaigns, gaining a reputation for his expertise and professionalism. He is committed to sharing his knowledge and helping stylists build confidence in working with diverse hair textures.
We want to offer a more personal training in an intimate setting hence why we only take on 12 participants.
